Plaque is a soft, sticky substance that builds up on your teeth and is mostly made of bacteria. Plaque attacks your teeth causing them to decay. Tartar is hardened plaque and it cannot be removed by standard brushing and regular oral hygiene.

Our hygienists will use scaling and polishing instruments to remove plaque and tartar from your teeth. These polishing instruments also remove staining from coffee, tobacco or red wine making it more difficult for plaque to build up on your teeth.
